The value of private equity deals has been growing at a compound annual rate of 40% over the past 6 years, and new McKinsey research indicates the market, including private sector and state-owned enterprise deals, could reach well over 200 billion renminbi by 2015. Yet, while the sector is awash in capital, quality deals are getting harder to source, and competition is getting fierce. The rise of Chinese private equity firms is posing a new challenge to the foreign incumbents that have traditionally dominated the sector. Join Bruno Roy, Managing Partner of McKinsey’s Beijing office, as he shares McKinsey’s latest research and insights into China’s private equity sector.
