    China is funding major infrastructure projects in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) under its multilateral Belt and Road umbrella policy. Prof. Karásková considers the impact of this on the image and perception of China in CEE countries.  She refers to media analysis conducted in the framework of the ChinfluenCE project that identifies key agenda setters who shape the discourse. Social network analysis is carried out to determine their views on China, clarify their motives and scrutinize links between them. The project focuses on China’s strategy across four countries.

    ABOUT THE SPEAKER

    Ivana Karásková is an international relations specialist, trained journalist and China analyst. She lectures on Chinese foreign and security policy at Charles University in Prague and works for the Association for International Affairs (AMO) as its in-house China research fellow.
